When I learned about Dallas’ bid to host the Parliament of World Religions in 2014, (Brussels, Belgium won the bid), I learned that there are over 300,000 churches and non-profit organizations in the Metroplex. Getting to know many of these and how they contribute to the Dallas/Ft. Worth Metroplex is an amazing opportunity. I believe that what happens at the grassroots level sets the atmosphere for the city. We can accomplish so much with our shared vision.

DFW Cultivators
Google this group. Look for them on Facebook.
Their vision is educating folks in the DFW (Dallas/Ft. Worth) area about lowering their carbon footprint, building community, learning to establish an edible garden, re-skilling.
Learn everything you can that their members are teaching.
Meetings on a wide variety of topics are held. An introduction will be presented.
Here is the information:
When : Sunday, January 8, 2012
Time : 2:00pm until 5:00pm
Description
We will begin by discussing sustainability in general. We will then move on to nutrient cycles and the basics of polycultural growing. This will be followed by a brief statement about appropriate technology, local economies, and their relationship to sustainability and organic community relationships.
This, of course, is a potluck, so bring some food!
